Mains water in Rimini

In Rimini mains water has a hardness of about 25 French degrees, with readings from 22 to 34 between 2015 and 2024: it is moderately hard water. Dry residue is around 416 mg/l.

At these values limescale is visible, but a water softener is not always needed: it depends on how you use the water and what you want to protect.

There is no legal limit for hardness in Italy: Legislative Decree 18/2023 sets none, while the previous Decree 31/2001 recommended 15 to 50 French degrees. For a domestic softener it is advisable not to go below 15.
